Visited Typist Cafe to meet a friend and tackle some work. Tucked away along Dupont, this cafe has a charmingly low-key vibe. Upon stepping inside, antique decor transports you to another era, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. The barista provided efficient service with a friendly attitude. We hada breakfast sausage and egg sandwich, a bagel, along with coffee and blue matcha. The blue matcha was a delightful surprise, having a sweeter flavour than traditional matcha. The food complemented our drinks perfectly, resulting in a satisfying experience. Overall, Typist Cafe provided a pleasant retreat, and I would certainly recommend it!

I came at around 4:45 on a weekday and they were out of a lot of menu items. I wanted a London fog but they were out of earl grey, so the barista suggested a similar black tea (caramel something) that smelled so good, exactly like caramel. There were even caramel chips in the tea. It was really good and hit the spot. He was very friendly and nice to talk to as well!

I went to this cafe last January 17th, 2024. This cafe had a vintage aesthetic and was aesthetically pleasing. The cafe is near my college. I like how it is walking distance from my college and Dupont Station. Their staff is very friendly and nice. The staff's latte art is very beautiful. I ordered a bacon breakfast sandwich, and the bacon breakfast sandwich was very delicious. I also ordered a blue matcha, and it was yummy.

Such an amazing spot! Plenty of room to chill and study, catch up with a friend and bring baby (lots of couch seating)! This is exactly the type of “third space” many neighbourhoods lack. Bonus is that food drinks and service are top notch. They also have a really cute vintage store in the back. Support local places like this over big chains like Starbucks!

The atmosphere just hits. Lots of antiques sitting around the place, also they have a very cute and small shop if you like fun and local stuff. The coffee was nice too. I had so much fun overall.

This place is so cute. Lots of unique seating and tables. Such a good vibe of music and a place to work from. The food was gone by 2pm - so I grabbed the last cheese croissant (which was warmed up!) and a sweet bagel menu offering (pb, cinnamon, honey and fresh blueberries- cute!) Plus an Americano. The solo barista was super friendly and efficient even if working solo and gave me a realist time for my bagel to be prepared. I really liked the vibe in here and have had their pastries before and loved the almond croissant. The simplicity of the menu is wholesome and scrappy. Does the job. Would definitely visit again!

What a lovely cafe. Probably one of the best in downtown Toronto! I came in on a Sunday and immediately felt welcomed inside. The cozy spaces, warm interior and music were a perfect start to my Sunday. The barista was also very kind, and despite being the only one behind the counter, he answered all our questions and made our lattes quickly and perfectly. We ordered two iced oat vanilla lattes and their bagel with za’atar, labneh and tomato. They make their vanilla in-house and it was nothing like I’ve ever tried. It complemented the espresso very well and I couldn’t stop reaching for the glass. The bagel was delicious and had the perfect amount of filling. Definitely tasted like it was fresh out of the oven. Special shoutout to Nicole who is the owner of this amazing cafe. We had a chat with her before leaving and she was so kind. She has honestly done a great job with the place. I hope typist studios continues to get the recognition it deserves! Thank you so much and we will most certainly be back!
